What to Know

  • A major snowstorm moved through South Jersey, Delaware, Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania suburbs on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025.
  • The storm brought a wide range of snow totals with up to a foot of snow in Georgetown, Delaware, and only a coating to an inch in parts of the Lehigh Valley.
  • A final round of snow began to fall in parts of the region Monday night and continued through midnight.

The first major winter storm of 2025 hit South Jersey, Philadelphia, Delaware and the Pennsylvania suburbs. 

Snow began to fall during the early morning hours of Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, in southern Delaware and New Jersey and continued throughout the day and into the evening.

The storm caused a wide range of impact, with areas in Delaware getting up to a foot of snow and areas in the Lehigh Valley only getting a coating to an inch.

The storm began to move out late Monday night. Now bitter cold temperatures are moving in and will last over the next few days in the Philly region.
