Powerful storms barreled into the Philadelphia region Saturday night, bringing with them damaging winds and brief pockets of heavy rain.
The region was under a severe thunderstorm warning until about 9:50 p.m., when the National Weather Service canceled it for much of the area.
The NBC10 First Alert Weather Team issued a First Alert from 2 p.m. to midnight for all neighborhoods as a day that will reach highs in the 70-degree range turned dangerous by midday and into the evening, with winds gusting between 35-45 mph or more.

The system was part of the same system that hit the Midwest and South Friday night, killing several people.
