Slick roads and black ice greeted drivers Sunday morning after a Saturday snow storm. Speeding restrictions are in place on the Ben Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross bridges.
Philadelphia International Airport is reporting delays and cancellations Sunday morning. Travelers are advised to check and double check their flights, and allow extra time at the airport.
New Jersey State Police said the department responded to more than 300 crashes and at least 363 calls for help between 12:01 a.m. and 12 p.m. Saturday. Not all of those calls were necessarily snow-related.
A coastal storm arrived Saturday and spread the season's first snow from the Jersey Shore to the suburbs west of Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley. The steady, light snow fell throughout most of Saturday as the storm crawled northeast and eventually departed into New England.
Accumulation on grassy and untreated surfaces and freezing temperatures made for dangerous conditions this weekend even after the snow stopped falling.
The storm's timing avoided any disruptions to work or school schedules, but some recreational activities were cancelled or postponed. In one of the quirkier outcomes, Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, cancelled a planned attempt at a world record snowball fight.
The Philadelphia International Airport also warned that cancellations were reported. Late Saturday night, arriving flights were delayed for an average of 58 minutes due to icy conditions.

Early Saturday morning, the snow was already falling at the South Jersey shore, where up to half a foot fell. There, and in southern Delaware, neighborhoods had already started to see accumulating snow. As much as eight inches fell in one area of Delaware by the afternoon.

Closer to Philadelphia, snow began falling later Saturday morning. Those areas got about 3 inches of snow.
The Lehigh Valley saw up to 7.5 inches of snow.
The storm wasn't "major" but instead was "inconvenient," NBC10 First Alert meteorologists said.
The accumulation was mostly on grassy or untreated surfaces. After the snow, temperatures dropped -- leading to the danger of black ice.
Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware had prepped snowplows and treated streets on Friday.
Some weekend events were cancelled. Atlantic City postponed its Winter Wonderland event, rescheduling it for Dec. 23 starting at 11 a.m. Downingtown cancelled its Good Neighbor Christmas Parade.
