A tractor trailer fire caused major traffic on I-95 in Philadelphia on Friday.
The jackknifed truck caught fire around 4:45 a.m. on I-95 southbound near the Betsy Ross Bridge. The driver of the truck was able to escape and responding firefighters placed the fire under control shortly before 5:30 a.m.

SIGN UP All lanes on I-95 were initially closed due to the fire. Two lanes on I-95 northbound and the shoulder of I-95 southbound reopened around 6 a.m.
The four other lanes on I-95 southbound and the left lane of I-95 northbound remained closed between the Betsy Ross Bridge and Allegheny Avenue interchanges for several hours as officials worked to remove the charred remains of the truck.
Shortly before 2 p.m., two right lanes on I-95 southbound reopened after workers removed the truck.
Traffic
The two left lanes on I-95 south and the left lane on I-95 northbound will remain closed between the Betsy Ross Bridge and Allegheny Avenue interchanges until workers finish repairing the guiderail, a PennDOT spokesperson wrote. That repair work is expected to last through Friday night, according to the spokesperson.
Drivers on the Pennsylvania side of I-95 can take Roosevelt Boulevard (Route 1) southbound to I-76 to get around the traffic. Drivers on the New Jersey side, meanwhile, can take the Betsy Ross Bridge to Route 130 to Route 30 to I-676.
