Instagram users were reporting issues with the popular social media networking service Tuesday morning, according to Downdetector.

Meta has apologized for a mistake that resulted in some Instagram users reporting a flood of violent and graphic content on their recommended content feeds.

Meta is offering deals to creators to promote Instagram on other short-form video apps, including TikTok, Snapchat and YouTube, CNBC has learned.

Beginning Tuesday, anyone under under 18 who signs up for Instagram will be placed into a teen account and those with existing accounts will be migrated over the next 60 days.
