The Deptford Township School District has reversed its decision to stop offering free bus services for students who live within a certain distance of their school days after announcing initial decision.

With just under a month left of summer break, some families are scrambling to figure out how to get their children to school after a New Jersey district told them they will no longer be bussed for free.

We’re less than a month away from the start of the new school year and one southern New Jersey district is telling some families to find a different way to get to school or pay up. NBC10’s Claudia Vargas explains why not all students are guaranteed a free ride on the bus. 

Deptford Township High School in New Jersey was placed on lockdown Friday after an image of a student posing in a restroom holding a gun, which was later determined to be a toy, was reported by school staff, school district officials said.
