Free SEPTA ride to Eagles Super Bowl parade (thanks to Kevin Hart) 🚇

SEPTA is urging people to ride its subway lines into South Philadelphia and Center City for the parade.

"Your best bets for getting to-and-from the parade route are the Market-Frankford Line [L] or Broad Street Line [B]," SEPTA said on its website. "Service will run every 6-to-8 minutes starting at approximately 5 am, providing frequent service throughout the day."

SEPTA announced that riders on both the Broad Street and Market-Frankford lines will ride for free thanks to Gran Coramino, Philadelphia native Kevin Hart's tequila brand.

The free rides continue after the parade, so SEPTA General Manager Scott Sauer suggested people hang out and enjoy something to eat or drink before heading home.

"Regular fares will apply to all services besides the Market-Frankford and Broad Street Lines," SEPTA said.

Clock is ticking if you plan on using SEPTA Regional Rail to get to Eagles' victory parade
NBC10's Matt DeLucia hears from commuters as he shares details on SEPTA's plan to get Regional Rail riders to Friday's Eagles Super Bowl victory parade. People need to ensure they have a "pass" before they board the train.

SEPTA plan for Eagles parade 🚉

Click here for specifics on SEPTA's parade day plan.

"Bring your Valentine to the parade and celebrate safely and ride SEPTA," Sauer said at Tuesday's news conference announcing parade plans.

SEPTA said that only a limited number of stations throughout its train, trolley and Regional Rail lines will be open on Friday.

"This is a great benefit for riders, and it also helps with safety and crowd flow by making boarding trains easier," SEPTA said.

A look at SEPTA's plan for Friday's Eagles Championship Parade
Some SEPTA stations will be closed on Friday as the transit agency adjusts schedules to help fans get to and from the Eagles Super Bowl parade. NBC10's Miguel Martinez-Valle reports.

Major hubs like the Fern Rock Transpiration Center, 69th Street Transportation Center, Frankford Transportation Center, NRG Station (at the Sports Complex), 30th Street Station and Jefferson Station are set to be open Friday. However, City Hall Station and busy Suburban Station won't be open.

"Regional Rail lines will run on limited, modified service from 4:30 am through 10:50 p.m.," SEPTA said.

See the map below for details and click here to get the Regional Rail schedule for your line.

Folks can park at SEPTA stations on the outskirts of the city and in the suburbs, but those lots might fill up.

Folks taking trolleys and buses should be sure to have their Key Cards charged up or be prepared to pay through credit, debit, Apple Pay and Google Pay, SEPTA said.

Riding Regional Rail? Be sure to prepay.

"Regional Rail fares cannot be purchased on the day of the parade, so please load up your Key Card or purchase a pass ahead of time," SEPTA said.

Will SEPTA buses run during Eagles parade? 🚍

SEPTA bus routes on and around Broad Street will begin to be detoured starting late on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, SEPTA said.

Trains from South Jersey for Eagles parade 🚆

Limited PATCO service connecting South Jersey to Center City will be available starting as early as 4 a.m., SEPTA and PATCO said.

"With an estimated 80,000 passengers expected to travel from South Jersey to Center City via PATCO, more than four times the typical weekday ridership, PATCO has designed a dedicated parade service aimed at efficiently moving as many riders through the system as possible," PATCO said on a webpage dedicated to the parade.

"On parade day, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., PATCO will operate westbound-only service from four New Jersey stations, Lindenwold, Woodcrest, Ferry Avenue, and City Hall, with nonstop service to 9/10th & Locust Street," PATCO said. "Starting at 1 p.m., PATCO will transition to operating eastbound-only service from 9/10th & Locust Street."

According to the transit agency, there will be no west service between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Service will be eastbound (toward New Jersey) with stops at City Hall, Ferry Avenue, Woodcrest and Lindenwold only.

The normal weekday PATCO schedule will resume at 7 p.m.

PATCO fares range from $2.80 to $6 for a roundtrip into Philly for the parade, the agency said.

What should you wear to stay warm at Eagles World Champions Parade? 😎🧣

"It's bundle up weather," NBC10 First Alert Weather meteorologist Bill Henley said.

It will be cold Friday with a high in the mid to upper 30s, just slightly higher than the same high temp we had for the Super Bowl LII victory parade seven years ago.

The day will be sunny, but with blustery conditions -- gusts of 15 to 25 mph -- making it feel in the mid 20s.

Your Eagles victory parade, Valentine's Day weather forecast
Cold, clear and blustery conditions for Friday's Eagles Super Bowl victory parade. Meteorologist Bill Henley is then tracking a weekend winter storm that will see snow transition to rain.

You will want to grab the winter coat, a scarf and winter hat to stay warm and sunglasses for dealing with the glare coming off the Lombardi trophy. Also, be sure to wear shoes that you don't mind getting dirty as there could be some puddles and mud left from the recent storms.

Comparing the Super Bowl parades, Henley said the setup this time is strikingly similar to 2018. Back then, a big rainstorm hit on Wednesday, followed by cold, gusty winds and sunshine for the parade on Thursday. The actual temperature stayed in the low 30s, peaking at 33 degrees, but with 14 mph winds, it felt like 23 degrees.

This time around, we’re also following a rainstorm, with clearing skies and blustery conditions Friday. While it won’t be quite as cold as 2018, with winds gusting up to 30 mph it will feel close to freezing, at best, throughout the day.

Are Philadelphia schools open Friday? 🚸

The School District of Philadelphia has canceled classes on Feb. 14, 2025, to give children and staff time to attend the parade.

The Archdiocesan high schools and parochial elementary schools will be closed in Philadelphia on Friday, according to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Temple University said it plans to close all of its area campuses for the parade. Other area universities could follow suit.

Suburban school districts will need to determine if they will remain open or close for the parade.

Philadelphia courts will also be closed Friday ahead of the long Presidents Day weekend.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is happy to host ceremony, but will be closed Friday

The Eagles banners are up on the front of the art museum as they steps of the iconic building plan to host the victory ceremony.

"The Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Rodin Museum will be closed on Friday, February 14, 2025, for the city-wide parade honoring the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl victory," the museum posted to social media.

The art museum shared details for what people who purchased tickets already should do.

The Franklin Institute will also be closed Friday due to the parade, so folks will need to wait until Saturday to check out the new Body Worlds: Vital exhibit.

Looking to get some culture while wearing Eagles green?

Some Old City museums plan on being open on Friday for discount admission or even free.

The Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation lays it all out on its website:

  • Betsy Ross House will be offering a $1 ticket discount to anyone wearing Eagles gear on Friday.

Some Old City spots, however, will be closed, PVCC said. The Athenaeum of Philadelphia, African American Museum of Philadelphia and Carpenters' Hall won't open Friday.

Looking to attend Catholic Mass?

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia said that regularly scheduled Mass will be held Friday at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul right off the Parkway on Friday. Mass is normally held at 7:15 a.m. and 12:05 p.m.
