Number of Phillies fans at Citizens Bank Park increases by a few thousand originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia
The maximum occupancy at Citizens Bank Park for Phillies games was raised Sunday from 20% to 25%, meaning the stadium can now hold up to 11,000 fans.
The commonwealth of Pennsylvania in mid-March increased its maximum occupancy for outdoor events to 50%. The city of Philadelphia did not match it but did slightly increase the number of fans the Phillies can permit in their home park.

The Phillies had an announced attendance on opening day of 8,529 and had 8,582 at the second game Saturday. Sunday was closer to 11,000. (Here are COVID-19 safety protocols for the ballpark.)
Restrictions have been raised as vaccinations increase and positive COVID-19 remain lower than pandemic highs. There could be more increases this season if things continue to trend in that direction.
The Phillies play their first six games at home before a seven-game road trip to Atlanta and New York. They return to Citizens Bank Park on April 16 for three with the Cardinals and three with the Giants. The months with the most home games are July and August with 15 apiece.
