Philadelphia Eagles Lose Super Bowl XXXIX: 10 Years Later

Ten years ago Friday: The New England Patriots won their third NFL championship in four years, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX (39) by a score of 24-21.

Not a single member of that team still plays for the Birds a decade later as Patriots duo of quarterback Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichek that beat the Birds just hoisted the Lombardi Trophy.

As we look back at the night in Jacksonville when coach Andy Reid’s Eagles led by Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens came so close, some questions arise:

Where were you?

At that time did you think the Eagles would go 10 years without another appearance in the big game?

What was your favorite memory of that 2004-05 team?

What did Donovan eat that caused him to … well, you know?
