Akbar Gbaja-Biamila Breaks Down 1st Pitch at Phillies Game

You've seen the 50 Cent pitch.

This is up there with it.

Akbar Gbaja-Biamila, a former NFL player and current co-host of the NBC television show "American Ninja Warrior," was a bit off with his first pitch before Thursday's Phillies-Giants game at Citizens Bank Park.

But give him credit - the fundamentals and mound presence were strong. He was collected in his windup, he checked the runners and then … the pitch.

He was kind enough to have some fun and join NBC Sports Philadelphia's Philly Sports Talk for a film session of the pitch, which you can watch above.

"We don't need to show film," Gbaja-Biamila said. "We're running out of time."

There was plenty of time.

As you can see, the pitch fell a tad short of the plate and the Phillie Phanatic was not impressed.

Still, Gbaja-Biamila was a great sport.

"Well, I grew up in the hood," Gbaja-Biamila said with a smile. "So we didn't play baseball."

And this didn't help …

"They deflated the baseball, too," he said with a laugh.
