Cherelle Parker, a Democrat with a long political history in Philadelphia, will be the city's 100th mayor and the first woman to ever be elected to the office, NBC News projects.

Incumbents have largely held onto their seats so far early in the various Philly City Council races. Jamie Gauthier, a Democrat from West Philly's 3rd District, and Brian O'Neill, a Republican who has repped Northeast Philly's 10th District for over 40 years, won reelection despite challenges.
Five Democrats won at-large Council seats, including Rue Landau, the first open LGBTQ+ member of the governing body.
Philly voters joined voters from across Pennsylvania in high-stakes statewide elections for Supreme Court, Superior Court and Commonwealth Court.
Democrat Daniel McCaffery, a former Philadelphia prosecutor who currently sits on the statewide appellate court, has won the election for an open seat on Pennsylvania's Supreme Court, the Associated Press projects. Democrats now will hold a 5-2 majority on the highest court in the Commonwealth.
