Toronto's embattled Mayor Rob Ford may have gotten a major TV appearance Tuesday morning when he appeared on the "Today" show — but he found out later in the day that his reality TV show back home in Canada was being canceled. The country's Sun News Network gave "Ford Nation," starring the scandal-scarred mayor and his loyal brother, the axe less than 24 hours after it debuted. "No more stand alone show," a network spokesperson confirmed Tuesday. That news came just as Ford saw more than half his staff defect to the deputy mayor's office, a day after the Toronto City Council — of which his brother Doug is a member — stripped him of most of his powers at a raucous meeting. But Tuesday morning, Ford told the "Today" show's Matt Lauer that although he's "not perfect," he can still lead Toronto. "Give me five or six months, and if they don't see a difference, I'll eat my words," he said. Ford has admitted to smoking crack cocaine, which he said earlier this month was done "probably in one of my drunken stupors."
