Thousands Face Winter Weeks Without Gas, Heat

More than 7,000 Rhode Island homes were left without heat due to a problem with natural gas lines. Gas supplier National Grid said it had multiple teams on the ground assessing the situation, adding that “this restoration process may be a multi-day event for those impacted.”
