Spider Causes Car Crash in Cooper City

A spider is being blamed for a car crash in the Florida suburbs.

The driver of the wrecked Honda Civic told Mike Jachles, spokesperson for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, that a spider was to blame for the accident in Cooper City, northwest of Miami.

Apparently, the creature was spinning a web above her head before it descended down and landed on her body. That's when the driver, who was heading north on Nob Hill Road, collided with a concrete light pole on Southwest 57th Street.

The driver wasn’t seriously injured – she has since been released from Memorial Regional Hospital, Jachles said.

In a tweet, Jachles said while he doesn't know what kind of spider caused the one-vehicle crash, it definitely was "not #itsybitsy."
