Veteran Kills Self at Occupy Burlington

Police are investigating three deaths at three separate Occupy protests, including the apparent suicide of a veteran in Vermont. A 35-year-old former soldier shot himself in the head inside a tent in City Hall Park Thursday, police say, and officials are debating whether or not to allow the protests continue. The Associated Press reports that protesters are planning a vigil for the man. In Salt Lake City, police ordered all protesters to leave a city park by Saturday after a man in his 40s was found dead. There was also a fatal shooting just outside the Occupy Oakland encampment, which police said likely stemmed from a fight between two men not related to the Occupy rallies. The Oakland Police Officers' Association is also asking the protesters to go home, NBC Bay Area reports.
