President Barack Obama told Germany's leader in a call Tuesday he would strive to improve the two countries' intelligence cooperation following new allegations of espionage, NBC News reported. According to a statement from the White House, the pair "exchanged views on U.S.-German intelligence cooperation, and the President said he'd remain in close communication on ways to improve cooperation." Last week, Germany asked the top U.S. intelligence official in Berlin to leave the country in the wake of two suspected cases of American spying and the overall tension caused by eavesdropping by the National Security Agency.
