Drunk Man Vomits on Train, Attacks Cop at Hoboken PATH Station: Police

A man who allegedly admitted to cops he "drank too much" caused delays for PATH riders early Sunday when he blocked train doors and attacked a cop who told him to move, according to the Port Authority police.

The man, identified as 24-year-old Fitim Ibrahimi, of Newark, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and other offenses following Sunday's 5 a.m. fracas at the Hudson PATH in Hoboken.

Police say officers saw Ibrahimi holding PATH train doors open and delaying trains, so they told him to move. The man vomited and appeared intoxicated, police say. Two Port Authority officers began taking the man off the train and Ibrahimi allegedly protested, became belligerent and caused a disturbance.

Once on the platform, cops say he started yelling and fighting with the officers. One Port Authority cop was hit in the face; the officer suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene.

Ibrahimi was eventually taken into custody. He was not hurt in the fray. It wasn't clear if he had retained an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
