Head-on Crash Leaves Work Vans Damaged, People Hurt

The wreck along Route 72 in Woodland, Burlington County left at least two people hurt.

Two work vans collided head-on along a South Jersey roadway before sunrise Monday leaving both drivers trapped in the badly-damaged vehicles.

Two white work vans crashed along Route 72 near Wubaditty Lane in Woodland, Burlington County around 6:10 a.m. when a westbound driver crossed over into the eastbound lane, said state police.

The crash left two drivers trapped in the vans that had no passengers at the time. A medical helicopter took both victims to Cooper University Medical Center with serious injuries, said state police.

SkyForce10 hovered over the wreck that left debris on the roadway and pushed both vans off the roadway. The road remained closed until shortly before 8 a.m.

No word yet on an exact cause of the crash. Police didn't say where the vans were headed.
