Police in Delaware County have joined together to search for a man who attacked a woman pushing a stroller on Wednesday, according to officials. Now, they're asking for the public's help in finding him.
Officers with the Collingdale Police Department were called to Chester Pike and Pine Street for reports of a stabbing after several witnesses called 911 just before 2 p.m., police said.
A woman was pushing a child in a baby stroller when a man with a knife attacked her, witnesses told Collingdale police. She was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition with minor injuries and the baby was not hurt.
"We had to do something," Gevele of Genius Car Professionals told NBC10. He said that his team couldn't see what was happening because of a parked car that was blocking their view. When they heard the screams they ran over to help. “We gripped the guy up and was like 'Yo what is going on? What are you doing?' He had a knife on him. And so she’s bleeding we see the blood and I was like 'Do you know this guy?' 'What’s going on?' 'What’s happening?' She said she didn’t know him. So we instantly grab the guy.”

Several people at the scene called 911 but the suspect started to run away before police got there. Gevele and his coworkers chased after him and pinned him in a backyard before the suspect jumped across a rooftop and got away.
With the help of Sharon Hill, Darby Borough, Darby Township and Folcroft Police Departments, the Collingdale Police Department was able to set a perimeter to try and find the suspect, officials said.

“He got into the woods, jumped into the fences and we lost him there," Collingdale Police chief Patrick Kilroy said. “He’s going to see himself on social media, or the news or somebody is going to know who he is and contact us I hope.”
The suspect was then seen running from the scene on foot in the direction of Upper Darby, according to officials. Witnesses tried to chase the suspect along the CSX Railroad before losing him.
Police are asking the public to help them find the man wanted for the stabbing. He is described as wearing a blue shirt with gray pants and light colored two-toned New Balance-branded sneakers. He was also carrying a backpack at the time of the incident.
