SEPTA El Trains Vandalized at City Rail Yard

SEPTA took five train cars out of service this morning after vandals tagged the cars with graffiti.

The vandalism occurred overnight at the Frankford Transportation Center train yard near Frankford and Bustleton Avenues in the city’s Frankford neighborhood.

Employees found the damaged Market-Frankford Line train cars when they arrived early Tuesday.

They also found two people who didn't belong inside the fenced-in yard.

SEPTA took the the El cars out of service, according to a SEPTA spokesperson.

The incident didn't have any effect on service Tuesday morning, according to SEPTA.

The transportation agency didn't reveal the nature of the tags.

The incident remained under investigation Tuesday as Philadelphia Police and transit police tried to find the vandals.
