The northbound lanes of the Northeast Extension in Montgomery County were shut down for more than nine hours early Tuesday after a crash involving four tractor-trailers.
The crash happened just before the Lansdale interchange of I-476 around 5:30 a.m.
One of the big rigs jumped the concrete median, becoming lodged on top of the barrier. At least one vehicle spilled fuel on the highway which required clean up.
Paramedics took at least one driver to a local hospital. The victim's exact injuries were not known, but state police described them as minor.
The northbound lanes were closed for nearly 10 hours between Lansdale and Quakertown. Traffic was diverted off the highway just before the Lansdale interchange.
The highway was reopened shortly before 3 p.m.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
