The Philadelphia Police Department is hiring after numbers were down over 800 last year

Last year the Philadelphia Police Department was down 850 officers and a big detractor is gun violence in the city. The PPD has expedited the time it takes to become an officer from nine months to about four and is hiring from now until Feb. 2. NBC10’s Karen Hua spoke to officers about what made them want to join.
