The victim’s wife and nephew speak up about the brutal beating of Thuy Le. Two teenagers allegedly punched the 65-year-old man from behind, breaking his jaw.

Police have arrested two teenage boys on charges related to the beating of a 65-year-old man in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia Wednesday.

A mother of one of the suspects recognized her 16-year-old son in the surveillance video on the news Thursday morning. The video showed her son and another teen coming up behind a 65-year-old man and punching him in the head, police say.

The mother turned her son into police and then went to the home of the other suspect and took him to jail too, authorities told NBC Philadelphia.

The second suspect is 19-year-old Samuel Cave of the 400 block of Champlost.

Cave's mother was distraught that her son was allegedly involved.

"I am so, so sorry for what he did," Carol Cave said. "He was not brought up like that and it was a senseless crime."

The two teens were caught on surveillance video at about 3 p.m. attacking Thuy Le from behind while the the older was taking a walk on the 400 block of Chelten Avenue in broad daylight.

A source told NBC Philadelphia that after the attack, the two teens went back home and played video games.

The man’s jaw had to be wired shut as a result of the “random act of violence” and he lost several teeth, according to Philadelphia Police Sgt. Andrew Kensey.
