Philadelphia police say a suspect in the fatal shooting of a Temple University student in an SUV has turned himself in.
Leonaldo Rivera surrendered Friday and was charged with murder and attempted murder in the Jan. 24 shooting that killed Alex Garcia-Rojas and wounded another man.
The 25-year-old Camden, New Jersey man is jailed without bail pending a March 18 preliminary hearing. A public defender assigned to Rivera's case couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Police say Rivera shot Garcia-Rojas in the face and torso and another man in the arm around 4:30 a.m. in the city's Feltonville section.
Officers found Garcia-Rojas slumped at the steering wheel of his Chevrolet Trailblazer. The other man was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.
Garcia-Rojas was also known as Alejandro Rojas. He was a student at Temple University.
