Police in Philadelphia are investigating several Christmas Eve shootings left at least two people dead and several hurt.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the first incident happened on the 600 block of North 13 Street at 7:46 p.m. on Dec. 24,, 2024, right between apartments.
Police said an 18-year-old male was shot once in the lower back. He was transported to the hospital by a private vehicle and was listed in stable condition, police said. No weapons were recovered, and no arrests were made.

The second incident happened just a few minutes later, around 7:53 p.m., at Pennway Street and Cottman Avenue, according to police. An 18-year-old male had sustained a gunshot wound to his right thigh.
Police said responding officers transported him to the hospital, where he was placed in stable condition.
Two firearms were recovered from the scene of the incident, according to police. However, no arrests were immediately made.

Police said the third incident occurred on the 3800 block of Wyalusing Avenue around 7:55 p.m., right behind the Philadelphia Zoo. A 24-year-old man had been shot multiple times.
Police said officers transported him to the hospital, where he was placed in stable condition.
No weapons were recovered, and no arrests have been made in this case, police said.

Then, another shooting happened at 39th and Brown streets just after 10 p.m.. Police said an unidentified woman in her 20s was shot and killed, and a 33-year-old man was critically injured -- shot at least eight times -- while sitting in a vehicle.
Police told NBC10 that they believe the woman -- who was sitting in the driver's seat -- was targeted. The man was taken to the hospital to be treated.
A fifth shooting occurred at the intersection of C Street and Roosevelt Boulevard around 10:15 p.m.
Philadelphia Police Department Chief Inspector Scott Small told NBC10 that an 18-year-old male was shot multiple times throughout his body. He was pronounced dead shortly after he was taken to the hospital.
He was found by police on the sidewalk in front of a private residence surrounded by at least 40 shell casings, Small said.
"It appears this was an executive-type homicide," Small added. "Three males were seen fleeing from the scene."
Police have made no indication that any of these shootings are connected.
