The ramp from southbound Route 1 onto I-76, in East Falls, has been closed after the structure was damaged in a crash. NBC10’s Brenna Weick has details and, NBC10’s Sheila Watko has info on how to avoid traffic in that area.
The Roosevelt Expressway ramp westbound to I-76 and City Avenue is closed due to structural damage caused Tuesday afternoon, PennDOT announced.
The damage was caused by a “large vehicle strike at the bridge” that officials said, caused damage to the ramp structure.
The closure is causing traffic to be detoured around the area, causing drivers to use eastbound I-76, Montgomery Avenue and westbound I-76 to avoid the ramp.

The ramp will remain closed while PennDOT bridge engineers and contractors can make repairs to the bridge and safely reopen it, officials said.
No end date for when the ramp might reopen has yet been announced.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time in their commute while the ramp is accessed and repaired.
