Former Exec Director of Non-Profit Accused of Stealing $85K From Organization

The former executive director of a local non-profit was arrested after she allegedly stole tens of thousands of dollars from the same organization where she worked.

Rodnell Griffin, 67, of Philadelphia was indicted and charged with wire fraud In connection with a scheme to defraud the Hunting Park NAC. Griffin is the former executive director of the Hunting Park NAC and retired a few years ago.

According to the indictment, Griffin withdrew more than $85,000 from the organization’s bank accounts between January 2007 and October 2013. Griffin allegedly used the cash for her own personal expenses.

Officials also say she obtained automated teller machine cards for some of the non-profit’s bank accounts. Her use of the cards caused the organization to incur more than $5,300 in bank fees and charges, investigators said.

If convicted, Griffin faces a possible sentencing of 30 to 37 months behind bars.
