Police activity in one Chester County neighborhood had roads closed on Wednesday night, according to officials with the Downingtown Police Department.
Officials released a statement late Wednesday night explaining that officers were responding to a mental health crisis that involved someone with a firearm just before 6:30 p.m.
West Lancaster Avenue between Viaduct and Brandywine avenues was closed in Downingtown along with Manor Avenue between West Lancaster and West Pennsylvania avenues, police said. The roads were reopened shortly before 10 p.m.

Residents and visitors were urged to avoid the area as police conducted their work.
The person was taken to be treated for a mental health evaluation. An investigation is underway.
