Rider University Building Struck, Damaged by Car

Authorities say a Rider University student was driving under the influence when her car struck and damaged the school's Fine Arts building.

The car veered off a campus road around 12:15 p.m. Monday, then went over a four-foot retaining wall, and crashed into the side of the building. The driver and her passenger were treated for minor injuries.

The crash damaged a portion of the outside wall of the Spitz Theater. Inspectors examined the building and found no further damage, but said repairs may take several weeks.
