Repeat Child Porn Offender Gets 20-Year Sentence

A convicted child pornographer has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after he was caught making child porn again.

Thirty-six-year-old Christopher Dondero of New Castle was sentenced Friday in federal court in Wilmington. The 20-year prison term is the statutory maximum for possession of child pornography.

According to federal prosecutors and court documents, Dondero used a cellphone to take photos of an 8-year-old girl while she was showering. The girl saw Dondero taking the pictures and told her mother, who contacted police. Dondero's girlfriend was babysitting the child at the time.

Dondero was previously convicted of dealing in child pornography in 2010 and a third-degree sex offense in 2001.

U.S. Attorney Charles Oberly says the case shows that those who repeatedly victimize children should expect long sentences.
