A woman and her dog died as fire engulfed a Bucks County, Pennsylvania, house Wednesday morning.

Flames broke out around 4 a.m. on Dec. 4, 2024, in a home along Mountain View Drive in the Hayocock Township section of Quakertown, Pennsylvania State Police said.

"Upon arrival, the residence was fully engulfed in flames and an adult female was found deceased at the back door along with a deceased dog," State Police Trooper Nathan Branosky said in a news release.

On Thursday, police identified the woman as Holly Susan Pechter-Walters. The 73-year-old lived in the home, police said.

As SkyForce10 hovered overhead about two hours after the fire began, firefighters could be seen surrounding Pechter-Walters' house -- ladders leaning on the roof -- as white smoke rose. Part of the roof of an attached stone part of the home appeared to have collapsed.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation by the fire marshal, police said.
