Teen Boy Dies Days After Being Shot on Philly's South Street

The 15-year-old boy was on the 800 block of South Street at 5:54 p.m. Sunday when a gunman opened fire.

William Bethel, 16, died Wednesday after being shot Easter Sunday as two groups of kids fought along South Street. Now, his family and friends remember the teen who they said was a leader that loved football.

A teen boy died from his injuries a few days after being shot in Philadelphia on Easter Sunday.

William Bethel, 16, was on the 800 block of South Street around 5:50 p.m. Sunday when a gunman opened fire. The teen was struck once in the left buttocks and pelvis. He was taken to Thomas Jefferson Hospital for treatment.

Bethel, who lived in Roxborough, died late Tuesday night, police said.

No arrests have been made and police have not released a description of any suspects. They continue to investigate.
