Gun buyback programs are held occasionally in cities like Philadelphia, where residents can turn in firearms in exchange for rewards like gift cards. NBC10 investigative reporter found that determining whether the buybacks deter gun violence is hard to quantify.

There was also a shooting overnight outside of 7-Eleven store on Garrett Road in neighboring Upper Darby, Delaware County, around 8 p.m. Saturday, authorities said. That person's condition wasn't known.
