2 people injured in West Philadelphia house fire

At least one person was hurt in a West Philadelphia house fire early Tuesday.

Two people were injured in a when a house caught on fire in West Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.

The Philadelphia Fire Department responded to the 1400 block of 61st Street, near Master Street, at 4:10 a.m. and arrived to heavy fire on the first floor of a home, officials said.

In the course of firefighters putting out the fire, one person was rescued from the home, and another was rescued from an adjoining property, according to the fire department.

Both were transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries, officials said.

It took crews less than 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the blaze.
