Officials have identified a man accused of stabbing a doctor in the face and head inside Pennsylvania Hospital.
Rakeem Anderson, 35, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Investigators say Anderson was undergoing an examination at Pennsylvania Hospital on 800 Spruce Street on Tuesday when he attacked his doctor, stabbing her multiple times.
Anderson allegedly continued to attack the doctor even when her co-workers pulled him away from her. Anderson was eventually taken into custody. The doctor is in stable condition.

A Penn Medicine spokesperson told NBC10 the hospital worked closely with Philadelphia police in response to the incident and that the doctor received immediate care.
"There was no danger at any time to other patients or staff in the hospital," the spokesperson wrote. "All hospital operations continue as usual, and we are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation of this incident."
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner is requesting Anderson be held in custody with a requested bail amount of $999,999. Krasner also requested a mental health evaluation be ordered.
