Tollbooth Attendant Held at Gunpoint

An unidentified suspect demanded money from a New Jersey tollbooth attendant

New Jersey State Police say an attendant at a tollbooth along the Garden State Parkway has been robbed at gunpoint.

Sgt. Adam Grossman tells The Star-Ledger of Newark the robbery took place around 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the Union toll plaza.

Police say someone pointed a gun at the toll worker and demanded that money be placed in a white plastic bag.

An undisclosed sum was placed in the bag and the alleged robber sped away.

The police were notified with an alarm triggered by the tollbooth worker.

Police have not released more details.
