Loved ones gathered Sunday at Saint Charles Borromeo Church in Cinnaminson, Burlington County, to remember Trooper Sean Cullen, who was killed last week in West Deptford after he was hit by a car while responding to a vehicle fire on I-295.
Funeral services are underway for a New Jersey state trooper who died after he was struck by a passing motorist while responding to a car fire.
A public viewing began at 2 p.m. Sunday and will last until 7 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church on 2500 Branch Pike in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. Another viewing will take place at the church Monday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by the funeral at noon. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson.
Cullen was among a group of fire and police personnel who had responded to a car fire near Exit 25 on I-295 in West Deptford around 8:20 p.m. Monday. As the trooper assisted at the scene, a passing vehicle struck him.
He was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital where he later died.
Cullen left behind a fiancee, 9-month-old baby boy, his parents, a sister, a brother and an older brother who is also a trooper.
