New Charge for New Jersey Chef Accused of Distributing Child Pornography

Alexander Capasso is now facing charges of conspiring to exploit two children after being arrested last July for possessing child pornography.

Federal prosecutors say a New Jersey chef accused of distributing child porn is now also accused of conspiring to sexually exploit two children.

A judge ruled Monday that 42-year-old Alexander Capasso should remain jailed without bail.

The Collingswood man was arrested in July 2105 along with his ex-girlfriend after prosecutors say he exchanged pornographic images with investigators. After further investigation, he was indicted last week on five counts of distributing child porn and single counts of possessing child porn and conspiracy to sexually exploit two children.

The latter charge stems from photos and videos of the children that authorities say was found in electronic media seized at Capasso's home. He faces several decades in prison if he's convicted on all counts.

Capasso operated restaurants in Collingswood and Philadelphia.
