The crash happened around 3:30 a.m on the westbound side of I-76 near the Grays Ferry exit approaching South Street.
Three people were injured Saturday morning in the multiple-car crash on I-76 in Philadelphia that shut down the westbound lanes for hours.
According to police, around 3:17 a.m. Pennsylvania State Police received a report of a crash on Interstate 76 near the South Street exit.
Upon arrival, police said troopers found three vehicles that were involved in a crash with multiple people injured.
Police said the initial investigation determined that a grey SUV and a Uhaul box truck were first involved in a minor crash.

The vehicles stopped in the right lane and the occupants of the SUV exited their vehicle to speak with the operator of the Uhaul, police said.
While they were all talking, police said a dump truck traveling in the right lane struck the rear of the Uhaul.
The three occupants of the grey SUV who were standing outside of their vehicle were struck by the Uhaul, according to police. All three were taken to the hospital where two of them were listed in extremely critical condition.
