Ex-Boyfriend Stabs Woman, Kills Her Mother: Philly Police

Philadelphia stabbing leaves mother dead, daughter wounded

NBC10’s Katy Zachry reports Philadelphia Police believe the daughter’s ex-boyfriend is to blame as the mother died and the daughter is fighting to survive after the attack in South Philly.

Philadelphia police searched for a man Thursday who they say stabbed his ex-girlfriend and killed her mother.

The 48-year-old mother died after she was stabbed in the neck and chest around 1:55 a.m. Thursday along Daly Terrace in South Philadelphia. Her 21-year-old daughter was left in critical condition with multiple stab wounds, police said.

Police say the mother told them before she died at the hospital that the daughter had recently broken up with the 25-year-old man.

"We're getting information that the 21-year-old female broke up with him just a few days ago," Philadelphia Police chief Inspector Scott Small said.

Officers know the suspect’s name and address.

No names have been released.
