Car Fire Closes Delaware County Courthouse for Day

The Delaware County Courthouse in Media, Pennsylvania was closed Tuesday due to a fire in a parking garage next door. There were no reports of injuries.

A car fire caused the closure of the Delaware County Courthouse and Government Center Tuesday morning.

The Delco Council posted that the courthouse on W Front Street in Media, Pennsylvania would initially reopen at 11 a.m. after a car fire in the parking garage. County spokeswoman Adrienne Marofsky later said the building would be closed for the rest of Tuesday.

No one was hurt.

Officials have not yet revealed what caused the car to catch fire. An NBC10 viewer sent in a photo of what he claimed was the burned vehicle. The viewer said the car belonged to an employee of the Sheriff's Office and the vehicle's poor battery connection caused the fire. Officials have not yet confirmed this however.
