A massive fire damaged ten homes in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
The two-alarm fire started shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday along the 700 block of Lafayette Street.
The fire spread to six homes, leading to evacuations. Responding firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control.
Officials said the fire displaced around 40 people. The Red Cross opened a center for the impacted residents at Hancock Fire Company on 820 W. Airy Street.

Investigators say one person was treated for minor injuries.
Municipal Council President Tom Lepera has issued the following statement regarding to the fire:
“I am incredibly thankful to all of our residents and community partners who stepped up in this time of
need for the many people affected by the fire. Our community proves to be strongest when we work
together to help our neighbors, and this case is no exception. On behalf of all of council, I would like to
thank everyone who has provided safety and comfort to those displaced families. I would also like to
thank the Norristown Fire Department, our neighboring mutual aid fire compaies, the American Red
Cross, State Rep. Greg Scott and the Norristown Area School District for your immediate action to
provide assistance.”
Officials have not yet revealed a cause.
