Alcohol Suspected in Head-on Crash That Killed Teen Driver

2 men killed, 2 women injured in Delaware crash

Delaware State Police say two men died after a head-on crash in Marydel.

Police say 27-year-old Estanislao Lopez-Berduo of Marydel was driving his Ford Escort westbound on Halltown Road just past Enss Road on Saturday night around 10:15 when his vehicle crossed into the eastbound lanes for unknown reasons. The car crashed head-on with a Pontiac Sunfire driven by 18-year-old Zachary Rogers of Marydel.

Both men suffered traumatic injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. Two female passengers -- a 17-year-old and 19-year-old Mikeshia Stewart -- in the car driven by Rogers were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash on the part of Lopez-Berduo.
