Man using walker killed by hit-and-run driver in North Philadelphia

A man using a walker was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a street in North Philadelphia early Saturday morning, police reported.

The crash happened at Broad and Poplar Streets around 6 a.m., according to police.

The man - now identified as 55-year-old Brian Howard Lloyd of Philadelphia - was on the west side attempting to cross to the east side of Broad using a crosswalk when a black SUV hit him causing him to land on a vehicle that was traveling behind the SUV.

Police said they are currently looking for that black SUV, possibly a Porsche, that sped away northbound on Broad Street.

Medics at the scene pronounced the man dead at 6:05 a.m.
