Man Sought in Fatal New Jersey Shooting Captured in Georgia

A man wanted in the fatal shooting of another man following a bar fight in New Jersey on Valentine's Day has been captured in Georgia.

Middlesex County prosecutors say 32-year-old Franklin Township resident Jahmmel Chephas was arrested Friday in DeKalb County. But further details on the capture have not been disclosed, including how authorities learned Chephas was in the area.

Chephas faces a murder count and a weapons charge in the death of 31-year-old Richard Pryce, of Perth Amboy. His bail has been set at $1 million, but it's not known when he will be returned to New Jersey.

Authorities have said the men were involved in "an altercation" at a Perth Amboy bar on Feb. 14, but have not said what sparked the dispute.

They say the shooting occurred a short time later on Amboy Avenue, and authorities say Chephas soon fled the scene on foot.

Pryce, who was shot multiple times, returned to the bar and was taken to a hospital by a friend. But he was pronounced dead there a short time later.

An autopsy determined that Pryce died from the shooting. His death was ruled a homicide.

Authorities say the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
