Man Killed in Atlantic City Carjacking

Atlantic City police are searching for three men in connection with the fatal carjacking of a man at Trump’s Taj Mahal parking garage.

Police in Atlantic City are investigating the carjacking and murder of a man that started at the Trump Taj Mahal casino Sunday morning.

The victim was identified as 28-year-old Sunil Rattu of Old Bridge, N.J.

Police say three men were seen leaving the casino's parking garage around 8 a.m. on surveillance video when they approached Rattu and a woman, 24-year-old Radha Ghetia of Parlin, N.J. and forced them at gunpoint into a beige Land Rover.

Police say the suspects drove a block or two away to Warren Webb Way near Caspian Avenue and Martin Luther King Blvd. where shots were fired inside the SUV.

Hank Tyner, a retired police officer, heard the gunshots and dialed 911. He did not respond to the alley however.

"I'm too old now to do that stuff," said Hank. "I called police and directed them here. I heard the girl crying and screaming and I called the ambulance, came back in and got my coffee."

Rattu was found dead with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Ghetia, also shot, was taken to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center. She is expected to survive.

"She was injured and in pain but she was attended to by a local fireman," said Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted House.

In May of 2010, 47-year-old Martin Caballero of North Jersey was also carjacked and kidnapped while inside the Taj Mahal parking garage. His attacker, who is now in jail, used his ATM card and burned his car before his body was found.

"I aint afraid of too much but it's getting scary," said Tony from Brooklyn, who no longer feels comfortable parking in the Taj Mahal garage. "I'm valet parking."

Investigators are still searching for the three suspects. They haven't revealed how much money the attackers got away with. If you have any information on this crime, please call the Atlantic City Police.
