Family identifies man killed in Aramingo Ave. hit-and-run

A man is dead after a hit and run crash early Sunday morning in Frankford. Police say officers found the man in the southbound lanes of Aramingo Avenue and a car left the area, but they aren’t sure of the make and model. The victim has not been identified at this time.

A man was killed after he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene of the crash in Philadelphia's Frankford section on Sunday morning, police said.

The family of the victim has identified him as 43-year-old Cristian Miranda.

According to law enforcement officials, a Miranda was pronounced at the scene after he was struck along the 4200 block of Aramingo Avenue at about 5:02 a.m. on Sunday, July 21.

Officials said the victim was believed to be dragged by the vehicle and police initially were not able to identify the victim as his injuries in the incident were very severe.

According to police investigators, it is believed that the vehicle that struck and killed Miranda left the scene.

However, officials said a 2015 Ford Fusion, that was left abandoned in the northbound lanes of Aramingo Avenue, was towed away by police for further investigation.

Two days later police have still not provided any further information on how this crash occurred nor have they provided a description of the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident.

Officials said an investigation is ongoing.
