A man, who was riding an electric bike, was killed in a crash that happened early Monday along Broad Street in North Philadelphia, police officials said.
According to police, the incident happened at about 1:55 a.m. on Monday when a 51-year-old man, riding an electric bike, was involved in a collision with a vehicle that was headed southbound on Broad Street at West Erie Avenue.
In a statement on the investigation, officials said they believed the incident happened when the man crossed from the west side to the east side of Broad Street against a red light.
In a morning update, police officials identified the victim in this incident as Michael Buie of North Philadelphia.

Officials said the vehicle that struck Buie stayed on the scene after the crash.
Buie, officials said, was pronounced at about 2:08 a.m.
An investigation, officials said, is ongoing.
