Crews Block Lincoln Drive Lanes for Manhole Inspections

Expect to take some extra time to get where you’re going Friday if you take the Lincoln Drive.

Roving Philadelphia Streets Department crews planned to restrict traffic to one lane only in both directions between Wissahickon Avenue and Ridge Avenue/Kelly Drive (the 2-plus-mile stretch of the roadway with no traffic lights) in Fairmount Park as they inspect and possibly repair manholes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., said Streets Commissioner Donald Carlton.

The work is being done during the day to speed up the inspections and possible repairs while providing the safest environment for workers, said the streets department, which thanked "citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project."
