Police in the Philadelphia suburbs have taken a man into custody who they say "brutally attacked" a woman folding clothes inside a Montgomery County laundromat.

The attack took place around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, in a business located at Easton and Woodland roads in the Roslyn section of Abington Township, police said.

"The male punched the victim in the face several times causing lacerations, swelling and fractured bones," Abington police said. "The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital due to the severity of her injuries."

After the beating, the man had fled eastbound on Woodland Road.

The woman didn't know the man who attacked her, police said.

Police are searching for a man who they said is responsible for a vicious and unprovoked attack at a laundromat in Abington Township. Video shows the man walk into the business and attack a woman who was inside, punching her multiple times. Police say the attacker is known in the neighborhood. NBC10's Deanna Durante has the details.

"This woman did nothing wrong, had never seen this guy before and this coward walks in there and just viscously assaults her, Abington Police Lt. Steven Fink told NBC10's Deanna Durante.

"He didn't steal anything," Fink said.
